Ingredients
- For the Tofu: 3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, finely chopped (see note)
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey
- 1 lime, zest finely grated
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lime juice
- 1 lb (450 g) firm tofu, cut into 8 slices
- Toppings: 3 cups (180 g) iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced
- 8 radishes, grated
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup (10 g) cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lime juice
- 4 hamburger buns or other buns
- 1 tomato, cut into 4 slices
Method

Step 1
In a glass dish, combine the peppers, oil, honey, lime zest and juice. Add the tofu and coat well in the marinade. Cover. Let marinate for 15 minutes. Drain the tofu and set the marinade aside.Step 2
Preheat the grill, setting the burners to high. Oil the grate.Step 3
Grill the tofu for 2 minutes on each side. Toast the buns, if desired. Keep warm.
Toppings
Step 1
In a bowl, combine the lettuce, radishes, green onions, cilantro, mayonnaise, lime juice and the reserved marinade. Season with salt and pepper.Step 2
Fill the burger buns with the tofu, some of the salad and the tomato. Serve with the remaining of the salad.Step 3
NOTE: Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce can be found in grocery stores in the Mexican food aisle. Once the can of peppers has been opened, keep them in the refrigerator or freeze in smaller portions.
